Aubade
Aubade is a song or poem about lovers separating at dawn.
Dined at a half basement restaurant, fish, beer, amaranth leaves, I had tasted them, and only tasted them. Lying in the room, half of my body touches you, half against the bed. The white ceiling is all I have, I stare at it, trying to pin you onto it, like Jesus on the cross. We spent the full night in silence as if it could silence time. But how do I dare command time? Packing my luggage, shall I pack the ceiling too? Walking, to where I must go, I hear no sound of another footstep.
